THANKS TO DONATIONS AND A “SAFE IN THE STREETS” BLOCK PARTY EVENT, JERSEY SHORE BASED CHEF LOU’S ARMY HAS MADE ITS FIRST DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS RAISED AND PRESENTED A $2,000 CHECK TO FELLOW NJ-BASED A NEED WE FEED NON-PROFIT

On Thursday, September 17, 2020, Chef Lou’s Army hosted a “Safe In The Streets” block party style event in downtown Manasquan, N.J. from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. With over 120 people in attendance, the ticket sales and donations raised thousands of dollars for Chef Lou’s Army and for the event’s primary cause, “to feed area families in need this coming holiday season.” One week later, on Friday, September 25, Chef Lou’s Army presented A Need We Feed with a $2,000 check to help feed Jersey Shore area families this holiday season.

L to R: A Need We Feed founder and president Cliff Baker, Chef Lou’s Army Founder, Chef Lou Smith

Per Army founder, Chef Lou Smith, “Safe In the Streets was an absolute success. We had many of our Army partners that have been with us from the beginning of COVID19 come out and support. We had some awesome door prizes, we enjoyed all sorts of great food from Army partners and we all had a wonderful evening for a great cause. I thank everyone involved for their time, their continued support and most importantly their generosity.”

Advised A Need We Feed co-founder and president, Cliff Baker, “Chef Lou and I have a 30-year relationship in the food service industry. We have followed each other over the years but it was the COVID-19 pandemic that brought our relationship to the next level. We were able to connect and find a bond in helping those in need with our foodservice background. It is amazing that something so powerful has come from a pandemic that shut down our industry as we know it.”
